WHY IS OUR COMMITMENT NECESSARY?

 

Especially in the rural regions of Africa, many people suffer from severe energy poverty.
However, the availability of energy is an essential basis for health, education and
entrepreneurial initiative. It is thus the starting point for a credible perspective on a self-
determined life beyond existential poverty.

 

However, this is only possible with the help of adapted, small-scale, and at the same time,
scalable technologies such as photovoltaics. This is a sustainable energy supply that can be
established directly by the local people – it is clean and regenerative.

Brücken bauen mit der Sonne e.V. emerged from a project idea within the framework of the
Think Lab "Energy Society Change" of the Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft gGmbH and
the Innogy Foundation.

 

Since April 2019, we have been a registered, recognised non-profit association. We thrive off
the voluntary commitment of enthusiastic people. We place great emphasis on personal
initiative. We are open to all who identify with the goals of our association work.
